ADoc Flow demo video

Construction document control in 4½ minutes: one project, three teams. See a WIR go from the site to the consultant, with every attachment and register handled for you.

Chapters

  1. What is ADoc Flow
  2. Site team: create a WIR — building, room and activity fill the form; the ITP, MAR/MIR and method statement numbers come in by themselves; generate the PDF with the ITP, highlighted drawing and shop drawing attached
  3. Quality team: internal QA/QC review, recording the consultant's code (A, B, C), the document register and weekly Excel status report
  4. Management: the view-only dashboard by month, week, subcontractor and engineer
  5. Summary

What you'll see

ADoc Flow is QA/QC document control software for construction. In this video the fictional Demo Tower project shows the everyday flow of a work inspection request (WIR) — if you're new to WIRs, read what a WIR is and what its format contains first.

  • No typing the same project details twice: forms fill from the building, room and activity
  • Automatic document numbers, revisions and registers
  • One-click PDF packages with the ITP inspection page filled and signed
  • Consultant status codes and live dashboards for the whole team

The video, step by step

The video follows the fictional Demo Tower project through the three teams that handle construction QA/QC documents every day.

1. Site team: raising a WIR in a minute

Each engineer signs in with their own account, and their signature is stored once. Their dashboard shows their open documents, with anything the consultant returned for revision at the top.

To raise a Work Inspection Request (WIR), the engineer picks the discipline and the location (building, part, level and room), then the activity, sub-activity and subcontractor. ADoc Flow checks the construction sequence and warns if the previous step has not been accepted yet. The references fill in by themselves from the room's finish codes: approved drawing, ITP, shop drawing, approved material and its MIR, and the method statement. The WIR number is issued automatically after a duplicate check.

Generate PDF builds the complete submittal in one file: the consultant's form filled in and signed, the ITP inspection page filled in, and the drawing with the room highlighted automatically. For ceiling works an MEP clearance is raised together with the WIR. Method statements and material inspections work the same way, and a document returned as "revise and resubmit" becomes revision C1 with one click.

2. Quality team: review, status codes and registers

Every document first goes through an internal QC review, where nobody can check their own work. When the consultant replies, the status code is recorded (A accepted, B accepted with comments, C revise and resubmit), as explained in our guide to consultant approval codes.

Material approval requests (MAR) come out as a complete package with the compliance checklist ticked from the attachments. All documents sit in one register that can be searched and filtered, and exported to Excel as a weekly status report. Codes updated in Excel can be imported back in one go.

3. Management: a live dashboard

Managers get a view-only role with the dashboard and reports: every document by status and type, this month and this week, results by subcontractor (whose work is accepted first time) and by engineer. Any view downloads as Excel or as a PDF with charts for the progress meeting.
